Gundam Wing : Endless Duel

Gundam Wing was an anime series that used to be on Cartoon Network way back in the 90's. I wasn't too big of a fan of it as I don't know the story too much. Anyways, I'm pretty sure it was about a squad in space that was trying to invade earth and Heero and his team were going to stop that. Anyhow, Gundam Wings are big giant robots made of a human replica shape. You get on board and you pilot the beast in the cockpit of your seat using levers and such. The game is focused heavily on the futuristic era of the world, and based upon space as well as land combat. Later on they decided to make a fighting game called Gundam Wing : Endless Duel, based on the show Gundam Wing : Mobile Suit Gundam.
The graphics are top quality anime style. The graphics are colorful and as vibrant as ever. The luster of the visuals and effects of the hits flow seemlessly in every strike of the punchs, slash of the sabers and shot of the guns. The Gundams breath life in the way of their poses. There is really nothing that is drab about the artistry of the game. The games sound effects are nice as well, as swishing of swords radiate whopping noises when they hit, and melee hits sound like pounding noises. The sounds of the game may seem wierd by reading this, but if you play the game you'll know that they are of high quality. The way battling works in this game is like regular fighters, but with a twist. In Gundam Wing : Endless Duel you have a set of keys that are basic kicks, punches and light saber attacks. The 3 strong and 3 weak attacks used usually in other fighting games are not presented in this game. Instead "Y" weak attack, "X" strong attack", B"weak weapon" and A "strong weapon" are used. If you use A and B together and a directional key. You can fly upwards, forwards or backwards depending on which direction you hit. Also the X button can also be used to shoot pellets at your enemy while they are at long range. By using the A + B combination, you can quickly evade your foe while planning the next move. You basically also have a super powers guage from 0 to 300 in which the gauge goes down every time you execute a special move. You can always do special moves, but a super move has to stay within a certain radius of about 200 to 300. Obviously super moves do much more damage but are also more difficult to perform. If you think like the street fighter alpha series, this relationship is basically the same thing. Your gauge doesn't have to always run out though, if you continue to wipe your enemy on the floor with the moves and make direct, non-blockable hits; your gauge will fill up faster. Even with that in mind, the ultimate goal is to kill your opponent before they kill you. You can fly up in the sky as well as boost forward. It is a fun game to get into and once you get into the game I'm sure Gundam Wing will Wing it's way into your heart.
A solid 10/10. Fun fast paced fighter that is potentially one of the best Mobile Suits on snes.

Well yes this game was a big smash during the snes era of yore. If you're a big fan of japanese rpgs this title is worth picking up as it also has a few different endings in the game that you can get. The main focus is really on the battle, different talents, support skills and combat techniques you can get throughout the game. This is what makes it really shine.
